Exquisitely written. Pallavi, I have been interviewing cancer survivors for a magazine published by a breast cancer surgeon, but none of them, including the celebrities, have put it as eloquently as you.
And in your lines about the finiteness of things and the transience of all beings, the universe is sending me a message as I overthink leaving a dead end underpaid job to write for myself.
So thank you, and god bless. Hope the crab never visits you ever again. Take care
The sound of Shinto temple bells is a kind of ideal sound, connected to a very specific chord in Shinto music. The tone is apparently an approximation of the lowest note generally sung by women, as in a lullaby.
Lovely article Pallavi! Yes when young and healthy our mortality is under the carpet. As decay comes in your forties mortality refuses to keep hidden. I believe life is a brief opportunity to love and learn, and accept my disappearance as the price to pay. The big question is why did the Creator design his universe so that life should appear with its in built drive to grow and develop in our insignificant planet?

Thank you! Much appreciated.
‘for if we are human, decay we will’…a dark topic and you made it a pleasant read!

The sound of your words.
Thanks
Thank you :-)
and what a nice photo of you, dear Pallavi - but, to complement you most of all is your so
expressive and beautiful writing style - a great additional joy!
Just yesterday I surprised a friend with the forecast that, all continuing well, I expect turn 100
in April! Hugs - Rolf
Wow! April is going to be a huge milestone. Wish I could be there to celebrate with you :-)
